A: We are the largest shipper of online puppies in the U.S.! AffordablePup.com started in 2005 & because we strive for perfection, we can honestly say we are among the best in the business. We deeply care to spread the joy & love a family pet can provide. Once you choose your puppy (or your puppy chooses you), click the ADOPT PUPPY button. You will be taken to a page which summarizes the charges & allows you to choose LOCAL, BASIC SHIPPING, OR OVERNIGHT SHIPPING. After choosing, click the ADOPT PUPPY button. You will be directed to the ORDER CONFIRMATION page. Agree to the terms & conditions and click CHECKOUT. Enter all your information & make sure you give all contact phone numbers (cell phone) & a valid email so we can send you the receipt & flight information with tracking number. Once purchased, we will contact you to thank you for your order & let you know which days puppies are flying this particular week. We will book your puppy on the best possible flight & email you all the information along with a tracking number so you know exactly where your puppy is at all times! The puppies fly on DELTA Airlines V.I.P. Cargo. We pay extra for the V.I.P. treatment so your puppy arrives in style. We give your name & cell phone number to the airlines, so bring your I.D. & cell phone with you to the airport.** IMPORTANT: If someone (other than you) is picking up your puppy, you will need a signed & dated statement of release from the person who purchased. Bring this signed document releasing the care of the puppy to the person you designate.

A: We believe in arriving in style everytime. We pay extra for a VIP contract with Delta Airlines. They are kept in climate--controlled environments under the plane belly (72 degrees) & also in the airport transport vans (78 degrees). The following is the link to the addresses (by State) for Delta Airline Cargo Facilities:

A: **Important: We have no control over the flight status!!! Keep in mind; we do not work for the airport. We do everything in our power to make sure your puppy is where it should be on the day we book it. Although, it's rare... we have no control over delayed flights & cancelled flights due to weather. A delayed flight does not mean your puppy is not coming! It's the same as when people fly! Sometimes the flights are late, but they still arrive. Please don't accuse Delta of stealing puppies or call us and say we're a SCAM off of a delayed flight. It's a bit insulting. The puppy's health is our number one priority! The airlines will not fly puppies with certain temperatures. This is about the puppy & it's health and NOT YOUR SCHEDULE or OURS!! As always, you will have the tracking number & flight number to know exactly where your puppy is once he or she on the plane. It's always a good idea to check the Flight status before leaving your home (as we provide the link in the Flight Info Email)
A: Yes. We have a completely secured site & your information is never shared. We use the same securities as BEST BUY & other major companies in the U.S. Everything is locked down like Fort Knox. Check our customer referral section of our site for previous customer testimonials on the buying process. (Some past customers include their email and/or phone number if you would so desire to contact them directly with any questions).
A: We work with numerous breeders in the Tri-State area. Currently about 22. We do NOT work with Puppy Mills & cannot ever accept the fact Puppy Mills exist! They are a black eye on the face of this industry. We strive for perfection & will not accept anything less. We would not be able to offer warranties on in-bred or poorly bred puppies. We would be out of business very quickly. Many times, we have gone to see a potential breeder's operation & immediately walked out because we did not agree with their mode of operation. WE WILL NOT WORK WITH UNLOVING, UNCARING HEARTLESS PEOPLE! We only work with high quality kennels & breeders. People who care. THe reason our prices are lower than most is because we make our profits on the shipping. If a puppy is not shipped, we have to charge a $50 pickup fee to cover costs. We strive to provide the highest quality pup & are adamant about maintaining quality & integrity. Our business cannot survive without providing you the highest quality of puppy, so we are working for you!
A: Albon is an anti parasite used to terminate the parasite coccidia and is administered orally. It's required for your 1 year Health Guarantee to be valid. Albon is more of a precautionary step we take for all the pups in case they have trouble during the transition period. Think of it like vitamins for dogs. The amount we send with the dog will last about 9 days. Once the albon is gone, it's not necessary to pick up more unless you want to keep it around the house as precaution. Please read more information on Albon in our
Warranty Section.
A: The dog food most all the pups are on. You can find Royal Canin #33 at virtually every pet supply store. Most pups sold here can be on Royal Canin #33 for their entire life.
A: There are many of different variables used to price our puppies. Male vs Female. Breeder price. Size of puppy, Look of puppy, etc. It's a difficult formula we use to price a pup, but has nothing to do with HEALTH! IMPORTANT: Every one of our puppies has a certified health check from a Veterinarian. Each one is 100% healthy & has no affect on price. Females typically are more desired, so they will usually be a bit higher in price.
A: All of our puppies are playful. Those words are a bit synonymous... PUPPY = PLAYFUL. Vice versa. We don't sell any puppies that don't fit the definition. Any & all breeds we carry are going to be good for children. We would never offer any dog or breed of dog known for it's bad temperament. Rest assured all our puppies play well with children & are well socialized to be around all ages.
A: Please check our
customer referral section of our site. This is the best way we know how to let every visitor to AffordablePup.com know we can not possibly be a scam! Also, if we are scammers we would not put up such a good looking picture of ourselves in the
CONTACT tab? :)

A: Before calling us to read off puppy names on the site to ask availability, please read below:
All our available puppies are listed on our site & all the information is correct. If you see their picture (and the adopt button next to them)--they're available. Because of high traffic levels & schedule of the person who maintains the site... sometimes a listing can remain on the site after you've made a deposit. Rest assured, if you have a receipt in your email--THAT PUPPY IS YOURS! We've been in business for a quite a while & it's extremely important to us you get the puppy you rightfully purchased.
A: Yes. The webcam can be run on any particular puppy as long as there's someone in the Kennel at that hour. The cost is $9.99 & runs the webcam for 15 mins. The availability of webcam time slots are 1st come, 1st serve. Once you put an order for a webcam, you may call us or wait for a call. If our adoption team is busy, sometimes it can be a while before you receive a call about a webcam. Please be patient...but feel free to call us anytime. We realize you're excited--so are we! Please allow the right timing for the best service!
A: All puppies listed on our site have an approximate RANGE of weight they should stay within. We arrive at each range through a formula of different variables (i.e. parents' size, breed parameters, weight of pup at 10 weeks, etc). In addition, occasionally we offer a weight guarantee on a specific pup. This guarantee can be found directly on the pup's listing with the specific weight it is guaranteed to stay under. Guarantees usually stem from parents who have proven to have small offspring on a consistent basis. If you are concerned with adult size & its pivotal to your puppy choice, please look for a specific & guaranteed weight. On all other pups, we use an approximate range. These are "guesstimates"...as no one knows for SURE adult weights before the puppy grows to maturity. No Breeder in the US (or this world) can be 100% certain of an exact adult weight. They can guess. We feel we do a GREAT job of reflecting accurate approximates...as our numbers show we are always close. Please allow us a bit of slack for margin of error. We are human just like you :)
A: Example of Guarantee:
Affordable Pups L.L.C. guarantees the puppy you have purchased to stay under 5 lbs under healthy and normal circumstances! If the puppy grows over 5 lbs, we will allow you to return the puppy and receive a refund for the amount of the puppy you purchased (not including shipping). The puppy must be returned in the condition you received it meaning no alterations such a spading or neutering. If any alterations have been made to your puppy the guarantee is void!
If puppy has been shipped, the return shipping for the puppy must be covered by you the customer. (We are able to set up flights at a discounted rate--do not worry)
Thank you for your purchase,

A: Although rare, sometimes we will run a free shipping campaign. REQUIRED: If you have a coupon code, you MUST enter the it at the time of checkout. **NO REFUNDS OR PARTIAL REFUNDS WILL BE MADE FOR CUSTOMERS ENTERING NO CODE, OR THE WRONG CODE AT TIME OF CHECKOUT**. Prior to checking out, your order subtotals for you before before entering credit card information on our secure site. Please review the total of your order & make sure it is correct before entering your payment information. As always, you may call & speak to a representative before checking out if you have questions. Although it may sound crazy, free shipping is only held for a short time & is where we take the shipping costs upon ourselves to send you your new puppy. When doing this, oftentimes, there will be 2 separate puppies flying to the SAME airport on the SAME day for 2 separate customers. In best interest of lessening the stress of a flight, we will fly 2 puppies together--so they have a playmate during the flight. This is the best option for the pups. When receiving free shipping, know this option is possible. A customer may only require their puppy to be sent alone if they've paid full shipping costs & have entered no coupon code.
A: HEAVENS NO! Teacup is a DESCRIPTIVE word, please do not ever believe someone who's telling you there's breed requirements to be a TEACUP. They're lying. On our site, we use the word TEACUP to DESCRIBE a tiny dog. There are websites dedicated to tarnishing Teacups & their health. Those websites are incorrect. For us, Teacup = tiny. If a larger pup has a smaller littermate, but it checks out 100% healthy by our vet every week....is it sick? No. Will it get sick? No. Can it live just as long or longer than its littermate? YOU BET YA! You can have healthy pups which are larger as well has healthy pups which are smaller. We will not list a pup on our site unless it passes EVERY VET CHECK with flying colors & meets our standards of quality. We have warranties in place for a reason...we stand behind our quality checks! If we were in the practice of selling sick puppies--our customer referrals section would be small & we'd be out of business by now! Both of which are false. For each breed, there are many words to describe them (teacup, toy, miniature, etc). You can also use descriptive words like "loving"...."playful"...."rowdy".... but there's no requirements to be a "PLAYFUL YORKIE". It's up to your discretion. As a rule of thumb, for Yorkshire Terriers, we'll use Teacup for anything charted to be 5.5 lbs or under full grown. In the canine world, we think that's a tiny dog... we hope you'd agree. But everyone will have a different opinion on what a Teacup is.
A: Usually vets misdiagnose this! Depending on symptoms antibiotics may not even be necessary. Look to see if your puppy has green discharge or is lethargic, if not it is usually just irritation from the change of environment. They usually prescribe CLAVOMOX which is virtually ineffective according to numerous recent studies. Not only do the studies show this but we have had first hand experience with customers who say it was no help at all. If your vet does not like the idea of you using a Nebulizer we suggest asking for doxicillan as it seems to have much better results. For best results, please rent a Nebulizer ($75 deposit--once returned--we credit your card back!). Click RENT NEBULIZER off of our direct site: http://dcpups.com/warranty
A: While many of our customers have had success with methods such as (Crate Training, Pee Pad Training, Doorbell Training, etc)... we adhere to no method being better than the other. Affordable Pups has 5 full time employees, so we work with them a little bit on training. However, these are PUPPIES! They're young and aren't fully trained. You now have the JOY of potty training your new puppy. It's a learning experience with your pup! A chance to get to know them. We've heard all of the above methods work.... so its whatever works best for you!
A: The first 10 days is critical. This is the transition period. Transition periods can sometimes cause a level of stress in your pup. New sights, sounds, smells....everything's new to your little one. You want to try & relieve any stress during this time. This means no crating, limit playtime with children, don't put them into confined areas for long periods of time, and don't assume your puppy is eating! You must watch them like you'd watch a baby. Meals need to be going into your pup every 2 or 3 hours. If a human goes 8 hrs without nourishment, we start to feel hunger pains. This also happens with puppies but could possibly start at 4 or 5 hours. You MUST FEED YOUR PUPPY THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT! During the transition period, it's important to wake up at least once or twice throughout the night to make sure they're getting one of the following (yogurt, chicken, ceasers soft food, royal canin hard food, chicken-rice combination). If your puppy goes longer than 5 or 6 hours without attention, acid starts to build up in its stomach. A decline in your puppy's health can happen quick! These are 1 to 3 lbs organisms, you need to watch them like a hawk. Children Pack'n'Play Pens are great holding areas for your new puppy. That's what we recommend & use here. A puppy's normal temp is 102, so they're used to being very warm. Put them in the warmest part of your house if you want them to be most comfortable. After the first 10 days, you've reached a milestone & can start backing off the intense watching. We care about your puppy's health first & foremost. If there are ANY questions regarding your puppy's care or if any of this seems cloudy, please call us!
A: Please call 614 584-1978 IMMEDIATELY! If you panic & take your puppy into a Emergency Vet Hospital you assume all costs! Sometimes we can provide a SIMPLE remedy to a situation which could costs hundreds (even thousands) at a Vet. We have seen a good amount of pups in our 7 years, so please use our FREE KNOWLEDGE by calling us immediately! We do not cover emergency vet bills because of a hasty decision to rush your puppy to Emergency Care! (If you buy a car, take it home, and it starts making strange noises.... you wouldn't rush it down to the local mechanic & watch him take everything apart & charge you 5,000$ to do it! You'd call the people you just bought the car from! Same situation applies here! CALL US! ) Early detection is key (just as in human) to preventing an avoidable situation going very bad.
A: Usually small-town vets are best. Word gets around small towns very quickly & if a vet has bad practices... small towns will talk :) Usually (not always) small town vets are more inexpensive as well. Try a site like www.Yelp.com to search for a vet in your area & see reviews of consumers in your area as well. **IMPORTANT** DO NOT USE BANFIELD HOSPITALS (AS PART OF PETS MART CHAIN STORES). Your warranty will be void if your take your new one to Banfield. We've seen too many misdiagnosis, overmedicated, & wrongly medicated pups hurt by the care of Banfield.
A: Yes. All puppies listed on our site are here at the house in Johnstown, OH (suburb of Columbus). They must pass a 20 point checklist & numerous vet checks before they're listed on the site. We are not really a pet store (and proud of this fact). We do not have glass cages & we're not a petting zoo. We are sticklers when it comes to the health of these little ones. We require all customers to sanitize when they come to the house. We'd be happy to take your call & set a a private appointment for you & your family to come to our house and see up to three (3) pups per visit. We put the health of these little ones first & foremost. That's always been our motto! Thanks for understanding.
A: Every Monday we go to our breeders' homes to pick up all available litters. Tuesday morning we bathe, clip, & photo. Tuesdays (around 12 Noon EST) we'll have all our new puppies listed on the site. If we dont have a certain breed or certain look you want....most likely we will the following Tuesday!
A: If different billing and shipping info is used when purchasing a puppy we will require that an authorization form be filled out and then faxed or emailed back to us. This is required by the credit card company on any orders larger than $200. Please contact us at 614-859-2025 to request this form after purchase so that we may finalize your order and provide you with shipping information within 24 hours of receipt.
